Decreased Urine Output in Chronic Kidney Failure

2014-03-29 07:40

Our kidneys can filter out extra fluid and waste products from body in the form of urine. In right condition, if the fluid consumption is stable, the urine output will not change a lot. Decreased urine output is commonly seen in chronic kidney failure.

Urine output

The urine output is mainly up to the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and renal tubular abilities of reabsorption, concentration and dilution. In right condition, the urine output ranges between 1-2L/24h. If the urine output is above 2.5L/24h, it is called polyuria. Urine output below 0.4L/24h is known as oliguria. If 24 h urine output reduces less than 0.1L or no urine is produced in 12h, it is called anuria.

Decreased urine output in chronic kidney failure

Glomeruli are filters in kidneys and help filter out extra fluid from body in the form of urine. However, a variety of diseases and conditions can affect glomeruli adversely. When the number of functioning glomeruli declines, the kidneys will fail to eliminate fluid from body normally. As a result, decreased urine output will be the result.

When urine output declines, high levels of waste products will linger in blood. As a result, the patients will experience a myriad of discomforts and symptoms like skin itching, nausea and vomiting, swelling and so forth.

How to increase urine output in chronic kidney failure?

To increase urine output in chronic kidney failure, a treatment should be applied to repair the damaged kidney structure. If the kidneys can function more efficiently to filter blood, the urine output will increase.

Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy recommended to chronic kidney failure. This therapy can increase urine output by repairing the impaired kidney structure and reversing kidney damage. If you are interested in this therapy and want to know more about it, please email to kidneyabc@hotmail.com.
