Is Proteinuria Related To Renal Failure, Can We Avoid

2019-04-18 10:14

Renal Failure,Proteinuria,AvoidProteinuria not only directly affects the progress of renal function, but also affects the prognosis of the disease.

Does proteinuria mean Kidney Failure?

In fact, all chronic kidney diseases, whether accompanied by proteinuria or not, end-stage renal failure (uremic stage). Proteinuria plays a role of "accelerator" and is an important factor affecting the stability of renal function, but it is not a decisive factor.

In addition to proteinuria, the progress of renal function is also affected by multiple factors, including patient's age, personal physique, underlying diseases, psychological conditions, timing of discovery, and one of the most critical indicators - pathological types.

There are many pathological types of chronic kidney disease, of which about one-third are nephrotic syndrome with typical symptoms of massive proteinuria. In addition, it is accompanied by hyperlipidemia, severe edema and hypoproteinemia.

Although it also has the characteristics of massive proteinuria, different pathological types of nephropathy have different rates of progress in renal function, and the final development results are different. Not all of them will develop to renal failure.

Even with proteinuria, it is not easy to develop to the pathological type of renal failure:

In the early stage of chronic nephropathy, such as minimal change nephropathy, membranous nephropathy, IgA nephropathy, membranous proliferative nephritis, the impairment of renal function is relatively mild. Although proteinuria and edema exist, active immunotherapy can often recover or stabilize. Some patients with nephropathy, such as membranous nephropathy, can alleviate themselves. Therefore, the timing of treatment is also a decisive factor affecting the progress of renal function. Although proteinuria exists, as long as it is found in time, early treatment can also be relieved. In patients with advanced stage, adhering to hormone immunotherapy and eliminating inflammation in the kidney in time can also maintain the stability of renal function.

To reduce the risk of renal failure, patients with these types of nephropathy should also pay attention to the prevention and treatment of infections and cardiovascular diseases.

Proteinuria is typical and easily develops into a pathological type of renal failure.

Diabetic Nephropathy, hypertensive nephropathy, Lupus Nephritis and Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis have secondary disease factors, so the disease develops more rapidly and the treatment is more difficult. Take sugar kidney as an example, microalbuminuria may occur in the early stage. Some patients have edema and elevated blood pressure. For proteinuria, antihypertensive drugs such as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI pril) or angiotensin receptor antagonists (ARB sartan) are mainly taken. They also have renal protective effects. But to stabilize renal function and reduce proteinuria, the key is to maintain the stability of blood sugar. If long-term blood sugar has caused vascular damage, coupled with damage to renal function, it is difficult to reverse and can only be maintained.

Different pathological types of nephropathy mostly lead to proteinuria, but the focus of treatment is not the same. Therefore, before treatment, Kidney Friends should try to avoid proteinuria impairing renal function, and do two things well:

1. Clear diagnosis, unclear diagnosis and no use of drugs

Especially, there are many pathological types of nephrotic syndrome. Generally, renal biopsy is used to determine the pathological type, and then a reasonable immunotherapy program such as hormones is formulated, which is more effective than half the effort. But some patients are still not clear about the disease, blindly use drugs, although there is a certain effect, but can not be precise treatment, the effect is general. It may even delay the time of treatment, and the condition is getting worse and worse.

2. Improving immunity and diet management

The long-term leakage of proteinuria is related to the inflammation of kidney, so we should pay attention to improving immunity and eliminating inflammation, which is conducive to reducing proteinuria. In addition to drug treatment, daily diet management is also important. Patients with albuminuria or microalbuminuria should adhere to the principle of a high-quality low-protein diet.
